Pavol Koleno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, Isaac Kjellkvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrich Slany was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isaac Kjellkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Slovakia booed when Jesus Lärjungar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fritz Falkrantz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zigmund Maliar hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Metod Mlynar kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After 55 played minutes, Jesus Lärjungar's Isaac Kjellkvist shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henrich Slany came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jesus Lärjungar reached it. After 56 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Kornel Jahoda. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Suchy during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daniel Suchy hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Metod Mlynars short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Göran Juhlin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Vilhelm Ekerot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jesus Lärjungar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vilhelm Ekerot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Vilhelm Ekerot notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Slovakia's Henrich Slany. Henrich Slany was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Slovakia's Oliver Holub got a free kick in the 90th minute.
