With his leg Paul Heyckendorf managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Italy's Zaccheo Andolina fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Academica Pulheim's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sigfrido Auletta was slow to take the kick. During this time Italy's players had a chance to rest. Italy's Deodato Magliozzi suffered a sore thigh after 4 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Kurt Ahrem charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kurt Ahrem the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kurt Ahrem hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Mansilha in the 10th minute of play. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Simon Beuke in the 12 minute of the game. Academica Pulheim's Paul Heyckendorf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 13th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Simon Beuke in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. After 16 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Sigfrido Auletta. 21 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Ahrem came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Heyckendorf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siricio Liotta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Italy were awarded a corner. Sigfrido Auletta went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 26th minute, one of Academica Pulheim:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Academica Pulheim. Academica Pulheim:s Paul Heyckendorf showed great skill when he stopped Sigfrido Auletta:s penalty. After 29 minutes Academica Pulheim's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sigfrido Auletta who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Academica Pulheim getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Simon Beuke hit a great ball. Manuel Tiede hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After 44 minutes, Simon Beuke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academica Pulheim and the Italy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Simon Beuke kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paul Heyckendorf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Paul Heyckendorf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Zaccheo Andolina made the kick off in the second half. Siricio Liotta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Heyckendorf having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Alex Mansilha made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Alex Mansilha kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Paul Heyckendorf was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Lutz Golke replaced Alex Mansilha. An unexpectedly hard shot by Siricio Liotta in the 67th minute of play forced Academica Pulheim's goalkeeper Paul Heyckendorf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 played minutes Academica Pulheim got a freekick which was hit by Joachim Kretschmer. Joachim Kretschmer hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After 70 minutes of play, Italy's Porziano Marchitelli made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paul Heyckendorf was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Heyckendorf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paul Heyckendorf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. When Zaccheo Andolina came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zaccheo Andolina couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Heyckendorf saved Academica Pulheim from getting behind. When Maxime Vrints came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Academica Pulheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maxime Vrints couldn't finish the play. Italy's attentive Siricio Liotta managed to snatch the ball when Simon Beuke made a throw-in in the 84th minute of the game. In the 85th minute, Siricio Liotta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Italy's Guiscardo Davide got a free kick in the 86th minute. Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. Italy were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Academica Pulheim for a fine match.
