Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Omar Toledo started the match with the kick off. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Kretschmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Mansilha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Aranda in the 11th minute of play forced Academica Pulheim's goalkeeper Paul Heyckendorf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Heyckendorf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adria Bielsa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Omar Toledo struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Paul Heyckendorf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spain. David Aranda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Paul Heyckendorf made a huge save. Adria Bielsa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Joachim Kretschmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Ascaso having to interfere. In the 26th minute Lutz Golke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute Alex Mansilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Omar Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Paul Heyckendorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adria Bielsa in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul Heyckendorf prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lutz Golke in the 38th minute of the match. Adria Bielsa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Paul Heyckendorf made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Mansilha in the 44th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Toledo came free, but Paul Heyckendorf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Mansilha made a kick off. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Academica Pulheim's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Omar Toledo was slow to take the kick. During this time Spain's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Spain's Omar Toledo to fire away a dangerous shot which Paul Heyckendorf despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Ahrem in the 63rd minute of the match. Paul Heyckendorf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Mansilha in the 66th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A beautiful save bye Academica Pulheim's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Alex Mansilha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academica Pulheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Mansilha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Spain made a substitution. Pau Herrero replaced David Aranda. Spain's Sergio Ruiz was substituted for Adria Bielsa. Sergio Ruiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Paul Heyckendorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Enrique Rabellino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Heyckendorf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd match minute, Academica Pulheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ole Pankok to maneuver through the defense. Academica Pulheim's Paul Heyckendorf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carles Cherro in the 86th minute of play. Paul Heyckendorf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carles Cherro in the 89th minute of play. Sergio Ruiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Heyckendorf having to interfere. Gabriel Ascaso made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Alex Mansilha sent off a good shot on target. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Spain from getting a goal against them. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Spain had played much better football throughout.
