Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Frank Sachs made the kick off and thus started the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Albin Holweck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeromos Petres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gusztáv Détári kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Frank Sachs had several of the Szombathelyi Haladás's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 10 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Jeromos Petres as he didn't even see the shot coming. Jeromos Petres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 22nd minute of play. After 30 minutes, Adrian Dreifuss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the Szombathelyi Haladás players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. Malte Schiele's late challenge caught a Szombathelyi Haladás's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Malte Schiele helped the player get up and apologised. Albin Holweck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jeromos Petres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Malte Schiele hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when József Sugár came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Szombathelyi Haladás's József Sugár in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Adrian Dreifuss was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from József Sugár in the 55th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Frank Sachs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Tamás Vásárhelyi from long distance, 56 minutes into the match, got Tommy Kahn's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from József Sugár, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Albin Holweck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeromos Petres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Frank Sachs hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. If Vilmos Vastag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulrich Stein to maneuver through the defense. When József Sugár in the 87th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Tommy Kahn kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Willy Stieler during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Szombathelyi Haladás booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Stieler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Szombathelyi Haladás's Tamás Vásárhelyi got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
