In the 5th minute, Netherlands's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Miguel Almiron fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 8 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerzy Dudek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jerzy Dudek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 10th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerzy Dudek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kees Mooiweer made in the 14th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SS SuperSonics's Filip Jandryca. Jerzy Dudek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 20 minutes, Lars Meesters managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars Meesters was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerzy Dudek having to interfere. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Kees Mooiweer hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jerzy Dudek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Miguel Almiron could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wincenty Chlebek in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerzy Dudek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 37th minute of play. Jerzy Dudek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 38th minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Wincenty Chlebek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SS SuperSonics's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wincenty Chlebek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jerzy Dudek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the game, Kees Mooiweer threw the ball into play from the sideline. SS SuperSonics's Filip Jandryca quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Filip Jandryca's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Jandryca helped the player get up and apologised. Filip Jandryca kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wincenty Chlebek in the 66th minute of the match. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a free kick in the 80th minute. After 93 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Kees Mooiweer. Kees Mooiweer hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The SS SuperSonics fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
