In the 45th minute, Sven Krakouer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Louis-Philippe De Fremeaux came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the DACIA UNIREA BRĂILA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis-Philippe De Fremeaux couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miroslav Smola having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Korneliusz Antoszewski in the 92nd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Korneliusz Antoszewski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
