Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Manly FC's Mo Salah started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ray Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a free kick in the 4th minute. Netherlands's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when John Aldridge scored to the left of an out of position Arnout Reekers, making the score, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bas Tuitert during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manly FC's Ray Clemence played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 26th minute of play. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ray Clemence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 31st minute of play forced Manly FC's goalkeeper Ray Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes in the game, Mo Salah fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. Ray Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Aldridge. 41 minutes into the match, Manly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, David Eikelkamp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ray Clemence. Manly FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Eikelkamp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neville Byrnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilson Snabl in the 56th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clifford Hamilton kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexander Arnold's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexander Arnold helped the player get up and apologised. 63 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ray Clemence narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Payton Legg kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Bas Tuitert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ray Clemence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gijsbert ter Kruimer succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 76th playminute. In the 84th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Clemence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egbert Nijveldt to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carmichael Carbery in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute Nilson Snabl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Neville Byrnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Neville Byrnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ray Clemence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Netherlands walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
