The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Caetano Moreira. FC Temeswar Banat's Aimé Holtmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 7th minute of play. Adrian Neubauer took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artemio Lucian in the 13th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Adrian Neubauer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Temeswar Banat fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Aimé Holtmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caetano Moreira in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aimé Holtmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Benigno Osmundo in the 43 minute of the game. A collision led to FC Temeswar Banat getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Benigno Osmundo hit a great ball. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Lucian in the 47th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adrian Neubauer to strike the kick off in the second half. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agapito Diaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Trendafil Dzhendov heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Artemio Lucian got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Graciano Coutinho got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The FC Temeswar Banat supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Temeswar Banat would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
