In the 17th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Eriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severino Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Kroton F.C.'s Wilson Amorim threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Severino Messias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Daniel Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Støle in the 25th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severino Messias's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Wilson Amorim skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Johannes Støle sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute, Patrick Vieira made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Cristiano Chitarroni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Martin Eriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilson Amorim showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severino Messias to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Kroton F.C. getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Paolo Cannavaro hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Kroton F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Martin Eriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Kroton F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Vieira to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Portugal's Daniel Pimentel to fire away a dangerous shot which Martin Eriksson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipinho Amorim got free with Martin Eriksson in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kroton F.C.'s Martin Eriksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Kroton F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Saul Sanduru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Kroton F.C. getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Paolo Cannavaro hit a great ball. After 87 minutes of play, Kroton F.C.'s Johannes Støle made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kroton F.C.'s Martin Eriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 90th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Messias came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kroton F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
