The Boroondara Milan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 6th minute, Carlisle Fenwick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlisle Fenwick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Carlisle Fenwick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlisle Fenwick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 17th minute, Jason Sperling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlisle Fenwick in the 19th minute of play. Carlisle Fenwick took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 25th minute, Carlisle Fenwick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. After a rather tough play, Germany's Chris Mergenthaler got a free kick in the 28th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Andres Stevens came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boroondara Milan's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Frank Sachs scored to the left of an out of position Martyon Diehl, making the score, 1-7. Andres Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute Carlisle Fenwick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Boroondara Milan were leading 1-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlisle Fenwick made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Holweck to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlisle Fenwick in the 52nd minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Carlisle Fenwick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-8. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Martyon Diehl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Germany booed when Boroondara Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arty Shearn didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Germany's Albin Holweck got a free kick in the 63rd minute. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Janik Vogt hit a great ball. Boroondara Milan's Ned Mills broke free in the 68th minute of the match and struck a powerful long shot that almost became a goal, but instead the ball went outside the right post. An obvious chance of a goal. After 71 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Sven Krakouer. The supporters of Boroondara Milan booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Krakouer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes in the game Ned Mills got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Carlisle Fenwick could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Albin Holweck kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Carlisle Fenwick's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Tommy Kahn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 80 minutes into the game, Boroondara Milan's Andres Stevens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-9. Martyon Diehl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Jason Sperling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boroondara Milan's supporters rose to their feet, but Jason Sperling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Carlisle Fenwick came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Boroondara Milan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlisle Fenwick couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Albin Holweck came free, but Martyon Diehl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Malte Schiele cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-9. Martyon Diehl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Boroondara Milan could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Germany throughout the match.
