Ronny Tiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Moreira in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graciano Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Andy Strömberg's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipinho Amorim scored 1-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronny Tiger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
