After some careless play in the ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦ defense, Major Barna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin van der Sar. The ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin van der Sar should have stopped the shot. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute of the match Hungary got a corner. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antal Valentin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pacorro Aguilar succeeded in the game's 11th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. In the 15th minute Pacorro Aguilar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pacorro Aguilar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Fodor Daniel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balazs Lajos in the 25th minute of play forced ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bakos Endre to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute, ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Pacorro Aguilar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. In the 35th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin van der Sar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antal Valentin went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. After having played for 42 minutes, Pacorro Aguilar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Pacorro Aguilar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hegedus Henrik in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antal Valentin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Antal Valentin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edwin van der Sar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 53 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Bakos Endre. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Pero Falla was substituted for Pacorro Aguilar. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Noel Guerrero was substituted for Zacarias Zurbano. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Santos Sanz was substituted for Refugio Colsa. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pero Falla in the 64th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Balazs Lajos. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Boros Benedek got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 77 minutes into the game, Hungary's Hegedus Henrik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edwin van der Sar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. A hard shot 80 in the game by Antal Valentin from a close distance when the talented Edwin van der Sar managed to make a qualified save. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Barna got free with Edwin van der Sar in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edwin van der Sar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 87th minute. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pero Falla in the 89th minute of play. The supporters of ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦ booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szekeres Tamas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
