Utku İnegöllü hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Porziano Marchitelli made a precise shot to the right of Yunus Civan. Trabzonspor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 9th match minute, Trabzonspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Waard to maneuver through the defense. Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Alejo Otsando sent off a good shot on target. Porziano Marchitelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejo Otsando got free with Flavio Vittori in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zaccheo Andolina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Yunus Civan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yunus Civan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 30th minute of the match. Yunus Civan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 39th minute of play forced Trabzonspor's goalkeeper Yunus Civan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yunus Civan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Alejo Otsando's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Flavio Vittori firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 44 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Guter Acosta. 46 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Yunus Civan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alejo Otsando was the one to do the kick off. Trabzonspor's attentive Guter Acosta managed to snatch the ball when Porziano Marchitelli made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. In the 53rd minute, Italy's Sigfrido Auletta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Porziano Marchitelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yunus Civan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Porziano Marchitelli ran back to his position shaking his head. Yunus Civan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Sigfrido Auletta went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Sigfrido Auletta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Trabzonspor's Yunus Civan did a great save. Gianpaolo Mascari's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Yunus Civan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 70th minute of the match, Zaccheo Andolina tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Yunus Civan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Zaccheo Andolina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yunus Civan was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. If Zaccheo Andolina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trabzonspor made a substitution. Yılmaz Avcu replaced Lucio Claus. Yunus Civan made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Sigfrido Auletta sent off a good shot on target. Yunus Civan came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Zaccheo Andolina. But to his dismay, Zaccheo Andolina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Adriano Curto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Italy played a much better game than Trabzonspor and deserved their victory. The Trabzonspor players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
