The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Potra came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belgium's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Dominik Szoboszlai scored to the left of an out of position Casper Claes, making the score, 1-0. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominik Szoboszlai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Tzanyo Barbutski came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 15th minute of play forced DELUX's goalkeeper Erdi Bender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edward Vanderstraeten in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erdi Bender saved DELUX from getting behind. 18 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Lachezar Túrpomanov came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, Belgium's Yves Dervaux made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erdi Bender was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erdi Bender saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dinu Potra got free with Casper Claes in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dinu Potra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. After taking down the ball on DELUX's corner Tzanyo Barbutski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Casper Claes quite easily take care of the ball. DELUX's Lachezar Túrpomanov got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominik Szoboszlai in the 45th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dinu Potra. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinu Potra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes DELUX got a freekick which was hit by Dominik Szoboszlai. Siebe Michiels struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Erdi Bender didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgium. With an all-out effort, Belgium's Erdi Bender threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edward Vanderstraeten, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 59th minute Belgium were awarded a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 63rd minute of play forced DELUX's goalkeeper Erdi Bender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erdi Bender made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 78th minute of play forced DELUX's goalkeeper Erdi Bender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute Dominik Szoboszlai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. DELUX's Erdi Bender proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save DELUX from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in DELUX's zone, Edward Vanderstraeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erdi Bender came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Belgium supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belgium would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
