Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Lars Meesters sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Ramsdal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mount Pleasant FC's Aaron Ramsdal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Mount Pleasant FC's goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. In the 69th minute Dallas Kuch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Aaron Ramsdal could save by the left post. Mount Pleasant FC's Aaron Ramsdal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Mount Pleasant FC from getting a goal against them. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Ramsdal having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Aaron Ramsdal in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
