Portugal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Diki Doro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Diki Doro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diki Doro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 42nd minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Diki Doro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petre Iftode. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Wilson Amorim successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viriato Moura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Primitivo Grau hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Pimentel was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. Bartolomeu Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Felipinho Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diki Doro having to make a save. Diki Doro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 94th minute of the match.
