The audience thought a goal was coming when Eutropio Vera got free with Hias Nüssli in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 6 minutes, Eutropio Vera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Savaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eutropio Vera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Sporting Savaria getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Robustiano Berart hit a great ball. Lajos Laczkó's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hias Nüssli firmly grabbed it by the left post. 16 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Kálmán Mbappè came free, but Hias Nüssli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Kálmán Mbappè left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Savaria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Hias Nüssli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kálmán Mbappè's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kálmán Mbappè, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. János Gáspár showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Maurer in the 34th minute of the match. Rodrigo von Känel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for János Gáspár. Sporting Savaria's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 39 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Maurer. Switzerland's Hias Nüssli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kálmán Mbappè in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Sporting Savaria's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Maurer came free, but János Gáspár reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuele Kunz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Sporting Savaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eutropio Vera to maneuver through the defense. Kálmán Mbappè scored 3-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hias Nüssli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kálmán Mbappè blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hias Nüssli having to make a save. Samuele Kunz took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised János Gáspár. János Gáspár dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 68th match minute, Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Wiesendanger to maneuver through the defense. Mustafa Orhan Gezer was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, one of Sporting Savaria:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sporting Savaria. In the 79th minute, Eutropio Vera left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Savaria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Robustiano Berart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Hias Nüssli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Switzerland's Timo Siegmund quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Robustiano Berart, made in the 85th minute of the game. János Gáspár took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Maurer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuele Kunz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lajos Laczkó received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Hias Nüssli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting Savaria fans cheered their team off the field, for while Switzerland had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
