BOCA JUNIORS's Tommy Kahn threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paul Caniggia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Linus Schwerner's late challenge caught a C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Linus Schwerner helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of C.A. BOCA JUNIORS booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Linus Schwerner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Caniggia in the 13th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Paul Caniggia made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th play minute Domingo Blai came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tommy Kahn. 2-0. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Cesario having to interfere. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Cesario having to make a save. When Albin Holweck came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albin Holweck couldn't finish the play. Domingo Blai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Paul Caniggia made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Frank Sachs recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bruno Cesario. Frank Sachs showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Paul Caniggia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of Germany booed when C.A. BOCA JUNIORS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herminio Abella didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Paul Caniggia came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the C.A. BOCA JUNIORS fans jumped to their feet. After 84 minutes, Herminio Abella mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A. BOCA JUNIORS and the Germany players grew even worse after the yellow card. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Cesario having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 94th minute.
