Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Viriato Moura took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Club Ibiza's Edgardo Cosca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Fonso in the 7th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgardo Cosca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. 12 minutes into the game, Edgardo Cosca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim. Edgardo Cosca showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Club Ibiza getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Mariano Ireno hit a great ball. After 16 played minutes, Portugal's Felipe Barreto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rene Higuita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portugal reached it. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beliran Poblaciones in the 18th minute of play. The throw-in from Felipe Barreto in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Club Ibiza's Edgardo Cosca. In the 25th minute, Beliran Poblaciones made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When Felipe Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Barreto couldn't finish the play. In the 28th match minute, Club Ibiza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denny Zuurman to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Club Ibiza getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Hector Urtats hit a great ball. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Cosca in the 33rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Higuita was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Fabricio Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Edgardo Cosca made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ştefan Vornicescu made a kick off. Rene Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Moreira in the 53rd minute of the match. When Caetano Moreira came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Moreira couldn't finish the play. 67 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Cosca came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute of the match, Daniel Pimentel tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rene Higuita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rene Higuita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 69th minute. Club Ibiza's Faustino Asprilla was substituted for Bruno Fonso. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. 77 minutes into the game, Phillip Hunt threw the ball into play from the sideline.
