Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jochem Klooster in the 13th minute of play. In the 16th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natasha Sjøholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 38th minute of play forced Griskultingarnas FF's goalkeeper Natasha Sjøholm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Natasha Sjøholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Natasha Sjøholm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg Natasha Sjøholm managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Natasha Sjøholm made a huge save. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. Natasha Sjøholm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 71st minute. Natasha Sjøholm was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Gijsbert ter Kruimer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. With a little luck, Griskultingarnas FF's Natasha Sjøholm got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Griskultingarnas FF's goalkeeper Natasha Sjøholm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Despite this Natasha Sjøholm quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 94th minute, Olívio Sjøholm left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Griskultingarnas FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.
