Match Report
De Sanctis Montenero
Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34,
Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Viriato Moura took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 6 minutes, Caetano Moreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portugal and the Black Mount™ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Black Mount™ booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peter Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. When Peter Santos came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Black Mount™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Santos couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Peter Santos took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Wilson Amorim to make any attempt to save it. 20 minutes into the match, Black Mount™'s goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Jânio César reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes Black Mount™ got a freekick which was hit by Jean Paul Galfrè. Felipe Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jânio César read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jânio César saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Miranda made in the 31st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Caetano Moreira however managed to control. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Black Mount™'s Peter Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodolfo Miranda got a throw-in 38 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Felipe Barreto. In the 40th minute, Portugal's Raul Caetano seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Raul Caetano the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Portugal protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Raul Caetano had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Portugal! When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Black Mount™'s Peter Santos got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Wilson Amorim. In the 45thth minute of the game Viriato Moura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Black Mount™'s Jânio César was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Santos was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Black Mount™'s Peter Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 60 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Santos came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Black Mount™ were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcelinho Sergipano took the corner. The corner led Black Mount™'s Marcelinho Sergipano to fire away a dangerous shot which Wilson Amorim despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 64th minute, Viriato Moura made a precise shot to the right of Jânio César. Black Mount™'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Jânio César showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Peter Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Peter Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Black Mount™ made a substitution. Özgür Canser replaced Mustafa Emre Seha. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Black Mount™ made a substitution. Oswaldo Trigo replaced Hayri Pitirimov. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Portugal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcelinho Sergipano was slow to take the kick. During this time Black Mount™'s players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Özgür Canser managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Daniel Pimentel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipinho Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Özgür Canser hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
