Felipe Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dacian Nițescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, AL TAQWA VILLAGE FC's Gorri Sañudo got a free kick in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Gorri Sañudo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Portugal's Bruno Bastos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dede Akmal in the 57 minute of the game. Mauro Dos Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mauro Dos Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Portugal booed when AL TAQWA VILLAGE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
