Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ionel Gâlcă was a little too slow when Wim Wilmes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-1. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Trifănucă in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Alan Eenmaa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to UNIREA FOCSANI getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Loyd Friend hit a great ball. Ionel Gâlcă made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a good shot on target. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ionel Gâlcă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valeriu Gheție in the 28th minute of the match. Ionel Gâlcă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 32nd minute. Ionel Gâlcă made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. UNIREA FOCSANI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored to the left of an out of position Ionel Gâlcă, making the score, 2-2. In the 36th play minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ionel Gâlcă. 3-2. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Opaina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Ionel Gâlcă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Ionel Gâlcă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ionel Gâlcă. Ionel Gâlcă dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 72nd minute of play forced UNIREA FOCSANI's goalkeeper Ionel Gâlcă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UNIREA FOCSANI's Ionel Gâlcă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 74th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valer Opaina in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Ionel Gâlcă. UNIREA FOCSANI's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-3. UNIREA FOCSANI made a substitution. Dorel Postelnicu replaced Cristinel Dejeu. UNIREA FOCSANI's Ionel Gâlcă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 81st minute of play. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by UNIREA FOCSANI's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. In the 84th minute Viorel Brănet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ionel Gâlcă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 88th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Gâlcă having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the UNIREA FOCSANI players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Netherlands.
