An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Mandrak in the 15th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes Palmeiras - Tia Leila's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Palmeiras - Tia Leila's Elano Rezende managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 20th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when João Adolfo Luz sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeiras - Tia Leila's goalkeeper Elano Rezende, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Genílson Mandrak came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmeiras - Tia Leila's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Olívio Sá in the 34th minute. Bebeto Recife made a great header on Palmeiras - Tia Leila's corner, it was just that Netherlands's Arnout Reekers managed to reach the ball for a save. Elano Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 35th minute of play. Wim Wilmes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elano Rezende having to make a save. Elano Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palmeiras - Tia Leila's Elano Rezende. Elano Rezende was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elano Rezende. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. Elano Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Eikelkamp in the 64th minute of the match. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras - Tia Leila's Narciso Baptista got a free kick in the 70th minute. Wim Wilmes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 78 minutes into the match, Palmeiras - Tia Leila's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Elano Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which David Eikelkamp managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Elano Rezende came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. But to his dismay, Wim Wilmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
