Borys Mentus was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Borys Mentus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damir Pongrac in the 12th minute of play. Toni Mauzer took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Borys Mentus. Borys Mentus dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Neven Culina hit a great ball. Borys Mentus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Mauzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Olimpia HSB defense, Damir Pongrac kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Borys Mentus. The Olimpia HSB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Borys Mentus should have stopped the shot. When Silvije Santek fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Croatia's protests and gave Silvije Santek a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Olimpia HSB booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvije Santek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ilija Skugor acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Aureliusz Fetor. In the 29th minute Neven Culina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Mentus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olimpia HSB's Borys Mentus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinko Stankovic in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Eduard Kostelac notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Olimpia HSB's Borys Mentus. Borys Mentus was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zula Kasiewski's late challenge caught a Croatia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zula Kasiewski helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Olimpia HSB's Zula Kasiewski got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute Tomasz Sliwinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilija Skugor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borys Mentus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Mauzer in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Toni Mauzer made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Croatia's Toni Mauzer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. The supporters of Croatia booed when Olimpia HSB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomasz Sliwinski didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Eduard Kostelac hit a great ball. Olimpia HSB's Aureliusz Fetor got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Olimpia HSB's Borys Mentus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damir Pongrac in the 60th minute of play. After 60 played minutes Olimpia HSB got a freekick which was hit by Konrad Puch. Borys Mentus was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Damir Pongrac capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Damir Pongrac really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Juliusz Patrylo charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juliusz Patrylo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Olimpia HSB getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Juliusz Patrylo hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the game, Neven Culina threw the ball into play from the sideline. Olimpia HSB's Zula Kasiewski quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 75 minutes into the game, Croatia's Toni Mauzer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Borys Mentus made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduard Kostelac in the 82nd minute of play forced Olimpia HSB's goalkeeper Borys Mentus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Barciniak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilija Skugor having to interfere. Ilija Skugor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olgierd Wielgopolski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute, Olgierd Wielgopolski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Croatia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
