In the 11th minute of the match, Lucjan Sokol tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 2kC Poznań's Tadeusz Rutkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind 2kC Poznań's goalkeeper Tadeusz Rutkowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an all-out effort, 2kC Poznań's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tytus Dylla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Lucjan Sokol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeusz Rutkowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 35 played minutes, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tadeusz Rutkowski came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucjan Sokol to make the kick off. In the 84th minute Ulryk Merski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Meesters received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tadeusz Rutkowski came out and tried to block the shot, but Lars Meesters slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 86th minute. Ulryk Merski took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than 2kC Poznań.
