Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horst Hussen in the 14th minute. After 15 minutes Belgium's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jurek Ohrem who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jurek Ohrem got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Casper Claes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 19th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacek Matuch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvestre Loi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Casper Claes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in SV Bad Harzburg's zone, Yves Dervaux stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacek Matuch came out of the goal and Yves Dervaux tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laurens Vandamme kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edward Vanderstraeten to make the kick off. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Loi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Loi in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Belgium defense, Silvestre Loi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casper Claes. In the 65thth minute of the game Silvestre Loi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Casper Claes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Horst Hussen came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SV Bad Harzburg's Jacek Matuch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save SV Bad Harzburg from getting a goal against them. Edward Vanderstraeten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal.
