Janusz Pusiak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Ulrich Stein hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as 2kC Poznań's Janusz Pusiak slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tadeusz Rutkowski having to make a save. In the 16th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeusz Rutkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Lucjan Sokol came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Marek Buczko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Sachs took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tadeusz Rutkowski. 2kC Poznań's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lucjan Sokol might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucjan Sokol ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucjan Sokol, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Tommy Kahn stood somewhat misplaced when Lucjan Sokol came free in front of goal and shot 4-0 to the left of him in the 40 minute. In the 44th minute, Marek Buczko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Germany booed when 2kC Poznań was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tytus Dylla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulryk Merski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Janusz Pusiak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Ulryk Merski ran back to his position shaking his head. Czeslaw Dembowski charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Czeslaw Dembowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to 2kC Poznań getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Czeslaw Dembowski hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Ulryk Merski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulryk Merski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Germany players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for 2kC Poznań.
