Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kuuno Tälli in the 2nd minute of the match. When Viriato Moura came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viriato Moura couldn't finish the play. 0-1 became the score in the 6th minute when Viriato Moura elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Viola Invest's Gavril Anghelescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Stig-Åke Gabrielsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wilson Amorim. The goal made the score 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Moura in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dumitru Doloman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stig-Åke Gabrielsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig-Åke Gabrielsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dumitru Doloman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute of the match Portugal got a corner. Viola Invest's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felipe Barreto ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Felipe Barreto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dumitru Doloman quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Mario Jakobe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Mario Jakobe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute Kuuno Tälli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Giga Popescu who took care of the corner kick. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Stig-Åke Gabrielsson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Moura in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dumitru Doloman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Pimentel kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kuuno Tälli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mario Jakobe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Kuuno Tälli came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Viola Invest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kuuno Tälli couldn't finish the play. Stig-Åke Gabrielsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. If Mario Jakobe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kuuno Tälli took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Viola Invest made a substitution. Alvin Viru replaced Mario Jakobe. Dumitru Doloman made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target. 80 minutes into the game, Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dumitru Doloman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Faustino Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dumitru Doloman having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipinho Amorim got free with Dumitru Doloman in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute, Portugal's Felipinho Amorim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. The Portugal fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when Portugal's Felipinho Amorim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Chants of Portugal echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Viola Invest had held the ball for most of the match.
