Primo Speranza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 3rd minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timoteo Columbo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Timoteo Columbo in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Vittori prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timoteo Columbo got free with Flavio Vittori in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Timoteo Columbo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timoteo Columbo in the 13th minute of play. Zaccheo Andolina scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Primo Speranza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. Primo Speranza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the game, Siricio Liotta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Primo Speranza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Timoteo Columbo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Flavio Vittori when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Academia 1903's Pastor Elequemedo got a free kick in the 29th minute. After having played for 31 minutes, Sigfrido Auletta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sigfrido Auletta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, Academia 1903's Timoteo Columbo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When Italy's Zaccheo Andolina, in the 46th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Italy. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Timoteo Columbo made a kick off. Primo Speranza made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Deodato Magliozzi sent off a good shot on target. Academia 1903's Gérard Magyar was substituted for Harald Ek. In the 58th minute of the match Italy got a corner. Academia 1903's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigfrido Auletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. 61 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's Nicanor Morenø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Vittori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Morenø came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 64th minute of play. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Morenø, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 68 minutes of play, Academia 1903's Nicanor Morenø made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! Academia 1903's attentive Rafael Jaume managed to snatch the ball when Eliseo Cutri made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 78th minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Italy defense, Nicanor Morenø kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavio Vittori. The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Vittori should have stopped the shot. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Morenø in the 82nd minute of play. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy made a substitution. Guiscardo Davide replaced Sigfrido Auletta. The corner ended in Gérard Magyar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Italy's Flavio Vittori did a great save. 86 minutes into the game, Nicanor Morenø cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Flavio Vittori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 91 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Porziano Marchitelli. In the 92nd minute Italy were awarded a corner. Siricio Liotta went to the cornerflag to take it. With an all-out effort, Italy's Primo Speranza threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adriano Curto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. For all the effort they put into the match, the Italy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Academia 1903.
