After a rather tough play, Germany's Albin Holweck got a free kick in the 5th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Tasos Fasoulas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cambaratiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Tasos Fasoulas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albin Holweck charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Belmiro Motta made in the 19th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tasos Fasoulas. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislaw Lichucki having to interfere. Cambaratiba's Tasos Fasoulas suffered a sore thigh after 29 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Janik Vogt's late challenge caught a Cambaratiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Janik Vogt helped the player get up and apologised. Cambaratiba made a substitution. Eduardo Mandrak replaced Tasos Fasoulas. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Germany! The referee gave Cambaratiba a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dudu Velasco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. 0-1. 37 minutes into the match, Eduardo Mandrak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduardo Mandrak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Eduardo Mandrak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eduardo Mandrak went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Eduardo Mandrak might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Mandrak ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Mandrak in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Cambaratiba made a substitution. Yuri Zanette replaced Claudinei Camargo. Cambaratiba's Fabiano Mota was substituted for Kiko Leal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sachs to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Cambaratiba getting a freekick after 52 minutes play.
