In the 16th minute Jorge Reijnders shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Savino in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 20th minute of play forced Kickers United's goalkeeper Cederik Huts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cederik Huts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Bastos in the 22nd minute of the match. After 24 minutes Kickers United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. After a defensive mix-up in Kickers United's zone, Felipe Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cederik Huts came out of the goal and Felipe Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Denis Cromefeldt kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Reijnders, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Kickers United's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Cederik Huts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luca Savino got free with Wilson Amorim in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viriato Moura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Blas Lertxun's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blas Lertxun helped the player get up and apologised. The throw-in from Leonides Blasi in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Graciano Coutinho. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. Kickers United's Lode Rouvroys was substituted for Jorge Reijnders. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Caetano Moreira got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Bruno Bastos hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Savino came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Savino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Daniel Pimentel came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Pimentel couldn't finish the play. After 89 played minutes Kickers United got a freekick which was hit by Lode Rouvroys.
