The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lenny Clocheret recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donald Fenwick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 7th minute of play forced Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Donald Fenwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donald Fenwick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 10th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Vinicio Carballeira made a precise shot to the right of Casper Claes. Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of Belgium booed when Memphis Grizzlies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Mannell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Memphis Grizzlies's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Donald Fenwick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Memphis Grizzlies's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Carballeira in the 26th minute of the match. Ian Prutton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yves Dervaux got free with Donald Fenwick in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 33 minutes into the match, Memphis Grizzlies's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Donald Fenwick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Carballeira in the 35th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The corner led to Memphis Grizzlies's Calvin Croft getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. With his leg Casper Claes managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Memphis Grizzlies's Stuart Banks fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stuart Banks in the 95th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
