Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harald De Messemaeckre in the 4th minute of the match. After having played for 6 minutes, Lars Meesters managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars Meesters was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wils FC's Andreas Frans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 13th minute of play. A well done corner resulted in Gijsbert ter Kruimer drilling the ball in to score 1-0 behind Wils FC's goalkeeper. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a free kick in the 17th minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald De Messemaeckre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Andreas Frans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. In the 32nd minute Harald De Messemaeckre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Frans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Frans having to interfere. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harald De Messemaeckre, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute Harald De Messemaeckre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andreas Frans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 46th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edwin Koppen made a kick off. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Harald De Messemaeckre tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andreas Frans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. But to his dismay, Wim Wilmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenz Van Deijck, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
