Panait Oprea started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Panait Oprea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Panait Oprea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to ionion getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Grigore Pădure hit a great ball. Fabio Abalos made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. 20 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Abalos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Abalos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of ionion's Fabio Abalos. Fabio Abalos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fabio Abalos made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Costică Donose kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Abalos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Ilie Surugiu came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Abalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ionion getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Constantin Dragușin hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Niculae Moisescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ilie Surugiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Netherlands booed when ionion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Dragușin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 65 minutes ionion's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. In the 68th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. ionion's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fabio Abalos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fabio Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 70th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilie Surugiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute, David Eikelkamp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabio Abalos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 75th minute of the match. Fabio Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 81st minute of play forced ionion's goalkeeper Fabio Abalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. 83 minutes into the match, Zikoranachidimma Bischhoffshausen notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costică Donose in the 86th minute of play. Fabio Abalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 89 minutes of play, ionion's Costică Donose made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! ionion's Fabio Abalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by ionion's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fabio Abalos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Fabio Abalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ionion eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
