The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 5th minute of play forced Les Bistouquettes Bleues's goalkeeper Conrad Steenberghs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Conrad Steenberghs didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Conrad Steenberghs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 18th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Les Bistouquettes Bleues's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conrad Steenberghs came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wim Wilmes scored 0-4 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Conrad Steenberghs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 29 minutes, Lars Meesters managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Conrad Steenberghs made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Conrad Steenberghs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Gustaaf Groeneveldt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conrad Steenberghs was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. When Netherlands's Lars Meesters in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Les Bistouquettes Bleues players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-8.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ruud Huytterhoeven was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Conrad Steenberghs. That made the score 0-9 after 51 minutes of play. In the 59th minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Conrad Steenberghs. Les Bistouquettes Bleues's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Conrad Steenberghs was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-13. Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Conrad Steenberghs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 72nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Wim Wilmes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Conrad Steenberghs. That made the score 0-14 in the 73 minute of play. Conrad Steenberghs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 78th minute of play. When Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The tension between the Les Bistouquettes Bleues and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Les Bistouquettes Bleues got a freekick which was hit by Diego Susters. After some careless play in the Les Bistouquettes Bleues defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Conrad Steenberghs. The Les Bistouquettes Bleues fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Conrad Steenberghs should have stopped the shot. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conrad Steenberghs having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Conrad Steenberghs in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 88 minutes into the match, Les Bistouquettes Bleues's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Conrad Steenberghs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conrad Steenberghs didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-16 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 93rd minute, Lars Meesters left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-17. The Les Bistouquettes Bleues fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
