But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Gísli Langnickel put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tommy Kahn. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gísli Langnickel got free with Tommy Kahn in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th minute, Gísli Langnickel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tommy Kahn. The goal made the score 2-0. Aversa's Emory Øien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 14th minute of play. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gísli Langnickel in the 16th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Anselmo Fulgenzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Anselmo Fulgenzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gísli Langnickel. After a rather tough play, Germany's Sven Krakouer got a free kick in the 29th minute. Tommy Kahn acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Amedeo Vida. If Gísli Langnickel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Tommy Kahn successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 45 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Sven Krakouer. 47 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Gísli Langnickel came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gísli Langnickel to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Aang Pitono left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aversa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. 54 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Gísli Langnickel came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Aversa were awarded a corner. Amedeo Vida went to the cornerflag to take it. Gísli Langnickel ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gísli Langnickel, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gísli Langnickel in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. The Aversa fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Aversa's Gísli Langnickel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gísli Langnickel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
