The FC Bullen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Toni Schumacher should have stopped the shot. Toni Schumacher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 13th minute of play. Toni Schumacher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 20th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a rather tough play, FC Bullen's Richard Fredriksson got a free kick in the 50th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zaccheo Andolina got free with Toni Schumacher in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Toni Schumacher successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Adriano Curto came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Curto couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd match minute, Italy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deodato Magliozzi to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute, Richard Fredriksson made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Italy were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing FC Bullen to leave the ground with a draw.
