Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frank Peletier started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pete Sampras in the 8th minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aron Dahlbom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Peletier in the 10th minute. In the 13th minute, Camille Baume hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maxime Durand came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by MAFFIAN's Alex Vallin. But to his dismay, Alex Vallin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Camille Baume who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Aron Dahlbom when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 26 played minutes France got a freekick which was hit by Jean Bombelles. Patrik Zachrisson's late challenge caught a France's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrik Zachrisson helped the player get up and apologised. Patrik Zachrisson hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alex Vallin's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Aron Dahlbom made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Camille Baume sent off a good shot on target. Pete Sampras blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maxime Durand having to make a save. Alex Vallin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pete Sampras to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goal looked a bit too open when Camille Baume came free, but Aron Dahlbom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aron Dahlbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Peletier, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After 63 played minutes MAFFIAN got a freekick which was hit by Alf Säfström. MAFFIAN's Ragnar Törnkvist was substituted for Alex Vallin. MAFFIAN's Kristoffer Nyberg was substituted for Alf Säfström. France's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MAFFIAN the free kick. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Aron Dahlbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camille Baume, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in MAFFIAN fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! The referee gave France a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by David Barbier, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Camille Baume's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aron Dahlbom was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. With his leg Maxime Durand managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when MAFFIAN's Pete Sampras fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 77 played minutes France got a freekick which was hit by Alexis Bruneau. In the 78th minute, Ragnar Törnkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aron Dahlbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Peletier in the 81st minute of play. When Camille Baume came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the France fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camille Baume couldn't finish the play. Stig-Arne Skålberg kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pete Sampras during the 93rd minute.
