Börge Alkvist was slow to take the kick. During this time ARES FC DeusDeFutbol's players had a chance to rest. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian Cuesta having to interfere. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Kees Mooiweer hit a great ball. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes into the game, Kees Mooiweer threw the ball into play from the sideline. ARES FC DeusDeFutbol's Albert Hufnagel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Willian Cuesta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 34th minute of play forced ARES FC DeusDeFutbol's goalkeeper Willian Cuesta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willian Cuesta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, ARES FC DeusDeFutbol's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Willian Cuesta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game was made by Kees Mooiweer with Lars Meesters as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind ARES FC DeusDeFutbol's goalkeeper Willian Cuesta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Willian Cuesta quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Karl-Heinz Rummenigge made the kick off in the second half. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnout Reekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Willian Cuesta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When Milosz Majczyk came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the ARES FC DeusDeFutbol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milosz Majczyk couldn't finish the play. Willian Cuesta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 73rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl-Heinz Rummenigge got free with Arnout Reekers in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, ARES FC DeusDeFutbol's Karl-Heinz Rummenigge sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnout Reekers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the ARES FC DeusDeFutbol defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Willian Cuesta. The ARES FC DeusDeFutbol fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Willian Cuesta should have stopped the shot. ARES FC DeusDeFutbol made a substitution. Israel Lazcano replaced Alparslan Türkeş. ARES FC DeusDeFutbol's Otsando Fierro was substituted for Milosz Majczyk. When Netherlands's Wim Wilmes in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
