Ayhan Vuralhan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Dionisio Sotero hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ayhan Vuralhan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. David Eikelkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Tequileros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Ayhan Vuralhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Tequileros FC's Edgard Lécuyer. But to his dismay, Edgard Lécuyer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Netherlands were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
