Poli Timisoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartosz Erland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vilhelm Larsson kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Poli Timisoara defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Adrian. The Poli Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Adrian should have stopped the shot. Ovidiu Adrian came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten. But to his dismay, Edward Vanderstraeten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 30 minutes into the match, Bartosz Erland notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Belgium's Casper Claes. Casper Claes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Simon Sabbe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Adrian having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Poli Timisoara defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Adrian. In the 41st minute, Edward Vanderstraeten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgium fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Adrian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartosz Erland in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Primeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Edward Vanderstraeten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Poli Timisoara from getting a goal against them. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Ovidiu Adrian skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Belgium's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
