Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Poli Timisoara's Vilhelm Larsson got a free kick in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 5th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ovidiu Adrian. Poli Timisoara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Arnout Reekers was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Çağdaş Yuvakuran capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Çağdaş Yuvakuran really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ovidiu Adrian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 21st minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 35th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bartosz Erland took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Ovidiu Adrian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. 43 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiger De Hond. After 47 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ovidiu Adrian was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mauro Primeiro was the one to do the kick off. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 54 minutes Poli Timisoara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Egbert Nijveldt fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ovidiu Adrian quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Primeiro in the 58th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ovidiu Adrian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 62nd minute. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartosz Erland in the 65th minute of play. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Poli Timisoara from getting a goal against them. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Eikelkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Mathijn Doctor hit a great ball. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 81st minute of play. Ovidiu Adrian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 87th minute. 93 minutes into the game, Poli Timisoara's Mauro Primeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2.
