After 20 played minutes, Serbia's Cvijetin Nanusevski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper 秦翔潮 came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Serbia reached it. The supporters of Serbia booed when Wolverhampton Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. 何昆桦 didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28thth minute of the game 赵永升 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 赵永升 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zvezdan Nedeljkovic having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Serbia's zone, 叶常建 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic came out of the goal and 叶常建 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Wolverhampton Rangers FC's 陶川建 got a free kick in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the game, Drasko Rajkovic recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of 秦翔潮. Drasko Rajkovic showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sreten Popovic stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 蔡益凡 made in the 52nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and 赵永升 immediately put the ball in play. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Wolverhampton Rangers FC's 洪博兴. But to his dismay, 洪博兴 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 秦翔潮 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sreten Popovic in the 63rd minute of play. 赵永升 in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 秦翔潮 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sreten Popovic in the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Borjan Golubovic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Wolverhampton Rangers FC defense, Borjan Golubovic kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 秦翔潮. The Wolverhampton Rangers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 秦翔潮 should have stopped the shot. Wolverhampton Rangers FC's 洪博兴 got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Sreten Popovic managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serbia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sreten Popovic was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wolverhampton Rangers FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
