If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frutos Laserna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 39th minute of play. Frutos Laserna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Major Barna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antal Valentin was the one to do the kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frutos Laserna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Korkutalp Koca in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. After 74 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Vörös Henrik. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petrică Oproiu in the 77th minute of play.
