Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jailson Capixaba kicked off to start the match. The throw-in from Kenn Skou in the 5th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Botafogo MZRJ's Isaltino Gomes. Botafogo MZRJ's Álvaro Melo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 6th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Denmark. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jailson Capixaba in the 8th minute. Bertram Svenningsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertram Svenningsen in the 12th minute of play forced Botafogo MZRJ's goalkeeper José Vítor Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Botafogo MZRJ's Jailson Capixaba dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Botafogo MZRJ's José Vítor Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 18th minute of play. After some careless play in the Botafogo MZRJ defense, Chris Nygaard kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Vítor Netto. The Botafogo MZRJ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Vítor Netto should have stopped the shot. Keld Paulsen was a little too slow when Jailson Capixaba got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-1. Botafogo MZRJ's José Vítor Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 26th minute of play. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson Capixaba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chris Nygaard scored 2-2 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Vítor Netto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chris Nygaard might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Vítor Netto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chris Nygaard ran back to his position shaking his head. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chris Nygaard in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Vítor Netto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute Denmark were awarded a corner. Chris Nygaard went to the cornerflag to take it. When Jailson Capixaba fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botafogo MZRJ's protests and gave Jailson Capixaba a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Denmark booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Vítor Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Jailson Capixaba notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Denmark's Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chris Nygaard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match Denmark got a corner. Botafogo MZRJ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chris Nygaard ran over to the corner to take the kick. José Vítor Netto came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Denmark's Chris Nygaard. But to his dismay, Chris Nygaard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. 64 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZRJ's goal looked a bit too open when Bertram Svenningsen came free, but José Vítor Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Vítor Netto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chris Nygaard in the 67th minute. When Denmark's Chris Nygaard in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Botafogo MZRJ's goalie prevented a goal. If Serginho Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Bertram Svenningsen notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of Botafogo MZRJ's José Vítor Netto. José Vítor Netto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 87 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Couto came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sidnei Amaral hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Gilmar Couto scored 4-4 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keld Paulsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 94 minutes into the game, Serginho Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botafogo MZRJ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denmark the free kick. After 95 played minutes Botafogo MZRJ got a freekick which was hit by Serginho Azevedo. Botafogo MZRJ succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Denmark had controlled the match.
