The audience thought a goal was coming when Marin Dindelegan got free with Arnout Reekers in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Petruț Arapașu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marin Dindelegan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Petruț Arapașu however easily saved by the left post. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Petruț Arapașu made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Constantin Bădila in the 62nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Dorel Iulian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Petruț Arapașu made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Petruț Arapașu to make any attempt to save it. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s goalkeeper Petruț Arapașu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 91st match minute, ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Udroiu to maneuver through the defense. The ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Netherlands's performance. The match ended with a win for Netherlands.
