In the 14th minute Malcolm Farrugia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilija Skugor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Malcolm Farrugia notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Croatia's Ilija Skugor. Ilija Skugor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 31stth minute of the game Malcolm Farrugia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Croatia's Ilija Skugor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Patrik Terzic got a free kick in the 36th minute. The audience was convinced that Malcolm Farrugia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ilija Skugor was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After having played for 42 minutes, Matt Delicata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Highbury Boys 1896's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matt Delicata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Malcolm Farrugia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Toni Mauzer made the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Malcolm Farrugia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ilija Skugor. The goal made the score 0-6. With a little luck, Croatia's Ilija Skugor got control of the ball when Sigfred Michaely tried to sneak it across the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ryan De Marco. 72 minutes into the match, Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sigfred Michaely. The Croatia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Highbury Boys 1896 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
