After 16 minutes, Neven Culina mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Croatia and the Sorci Viola players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fortunato Pizziolo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Damir Pongrac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Toni Mauzer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fortunato Pizziolo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Damir Pongrac was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Croatia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sorci Viola the free kick. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Damir Pongrac hit a great ball. When Florian Di Domenico fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sorci Viola's protests and gave Florian Di Domenico a yellow card for diving instead. Florian Di Domenico kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduard Kostelac in the 31st minute of play forced Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Fortunato Pizziolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sorci Viola's Aldo Lucchetti got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Dinko Stankovic got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute of the match Patrik Terzic sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fortunato Pizziolo skillfully saved the ball. After 43 played minutes, Sorci Viola's Alex Fini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ilija Skugor came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sorci Viola reached it. Ferruccio Cordone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toni Mauzer to strike the kick off in the second half. Dinko Stankovic struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Fortunato Pizziolo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Croatia. The supporters of Sorci Viola booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damir Pongrac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ilija Skugor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Caniglia's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrik Terzic during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Patrik Terzic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sorci Viola's Ernesto Caniglia couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Croatia.
