It was a well-played corner which Battal Gazi Bey managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Fran Guerola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fran Guerola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by S O B E R A N O CIMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Wim Wilmes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fran Guerola quite easily take care of the ball. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Wim Wilmes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fran Guerola. In the 33rd minute Jailson Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. Fran Guerola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th match minute, S O B E R A N O CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Battal Gazi Bey to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Fran Guerola in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Fran Guerola however easily saved by the left post. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Adriano Rodrigues was substituted for Battal Gazi Bey. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fran Guerola having to interfere. Jailson Barral made in the 66th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Netherlands's David Eikelkamp.
